If you know me well, you must have noticed my love for gizzards. I can literally eat gizzard all through the week without blinking. Gizzards and hearts can be delicious depending on the preparation.

Chicken gizzards are rich in nutrients, low in fat and often a low-cost source of protein. We all know how important Protein is to our body. Protein builds, maintains and repair all cells. Note that it is vital during development, as well as in pregnancy. Gizzard contains low fat and low sodium, also it contains niacin that helps support the immune system. They are both rich in iron and zinc.

Trust me, I eat grilled gizzards as snacks and you can should try it. All you need to do is to grill and place in the refrigerator. Grilling is a healthy way to prepare your meat while staying off frying.

This recipe is a must try. It’s easy, simple and fun to make. Before grilling, I marinated the gizzards and hearts and kept in the fridge for 30minutes. But it’s totally your choice, if you don’t have an ample of time, then go ahead and preheat the oven, then start grilling immediately.

• Chicken gizzards and hearts (64oz)

• Chicken seasoning

• Thyme

• Curry powder

• Salt (to taste)

• Small onions

• 2 spoons of olive oil

• 2 stock cubes

• 3 bell peppers

• 2 habanero peppers

• 3 cloves of garlic

• 1 inch of ginger


❖ Wash and marinate chicken gizzards and hearts with stock cubes, salt, thyme, curry and seasoning, then set in the fridge for 30minutes.

❖ Preheat the oven at 350degrees. Place the chicken gizzards and hearts in an oven pan or rack and place in the oven to grill for about 20minutes.

❖ Wash, the bell peppers, deseed and slice. Then set aside.

❖ Chop the onions and set aside.

❖ Prepare the garlic, ginger and habanero pepper and blend. Then set aside.

❖ After 10minutes turn the gizzards and heart to the other side. Then grill to dry or to your taste.

❖ Once it’s done, turn off the oven, bring out and set aside.

❖ Put a sizable pot on the heat, add the olive oil, onions and stir for some seconds. Add the blended mixture, a pinch of salt, some seasoning and cook for a minute.

❖ Now, add the sliced bell peppers and cook for 2minutes. Add the grilled gizzards and heart, turn the mixture to get around the meat.

❖ Adjust the taste if required and turn off the heat.

❖ It is done!!!
